Miss Giacomet (Careers and Pastoral support) will be on hand to organise careers events throughout the school and keep you updated with the latest apprenticeships, workshops and work experience opportunities.

Year 13 A-Level Revision Study Day at Kings College London!
Thursday 20th February 2025
Greenwood Theatre, King’s College London
Are you a Year 13 student preparing for your A-Level Maths or Psychology exams? PowerUp 2 Succeed 2025, are hosting an exclusive event at King’s College London, where professors and exam assessors will lead expert revision sessions to help you excel.
Two Subject-Specific Sessions:
- Maths Revision: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Psychology Revision: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The Young Photographer Challenge
Student Charity Competition
InvestIN are excited to invite you to take part in their annual charity competition, celebrating this year’s theme: Inspiration For My Future Career.
Students simply need to submit a photo of a person, place or moment that inspires their dream career, along with a short caption. For every entry, InvestIN will make a donation to UNICEF!
Deadline: 5pm, 24th February 2025
Prize: The winner can choose between receiving a free place on an InvestIN weekend programme or a one-to-one mentoring session with a professional from one of InvestIN's 15 industries.

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, KPMG are hosting a free Skills for Success webinar.
You'll hear from top speakers, get great tips and advice on how to highlight your skills during an assessment process, learn how to network and seek opportunities to develop and grow your skills in the workplace
You'll also get to hear from live from colleagues sharing their lived experiences, have your questions answered as well as obtain your own certificate of attendance on completion of the session, which you can add to your CV.

YouTube Spotlight Film on Music Industry Careers
Creative Careers partnered with YouTube to launch a campaign to excite and energise 11-18 year olds about opportunities in the creative industries.
The exclusive screening and launch of their first film created for 11-18 year olds was made by art rock collective Dilettante and spotlights the range of professionals that bring live music to life, highlighting how many individuals behind the scenes are needed for musical performers to put on a gig.
Students from TMP College, hosted the unveiling of the film at their newly expanded campus during Discover! Creative Careers Week. After the screening of the film the young people had a Q&A with Francesca Pidgeon, the multi-instrumentalist and composer behind Dilettante and her manager, and she performed a selection of her tracks.

Ongoing Work Experience
Work experience is an invaluable opportunity which not only could lead to a full time job within your chosen career path, but you'll learn transferable skills, day to day etiquette of the working world and just being in a working environment.
Work experience is also valuable content for a UCAS application. It'll help you check out career areas and show evidence of useful skills for coping with university study and life.
Top tips for finding work experience
- Get online. Search local authority websites, local businesses and LinkedIn
- Ask parents or friends for useful contacts and opportunities
- For speculative enquiries to employers, write to them and send a brief CV and covering letter stating clearly when you're available and what you are looking for i.e. work experience, volunteering, shadowing etc. This can be done online or even by visiting the organisation itself and talking to the manager.
- And remember if you don't ask, you don't get!
