Vision

Charvil Piggott Primary School aims to inspire and nurture the creativity in which all pupils can explore their ideas and record their experiences by developing enquiring and open minds capable of independent thought. 

Intent

  • Pupils become proficient in areas of practical knowledge such as drawing, painting and sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques.
  • Pupils make connections between art’s past, present and future which provides them with the knowledge to make meaning, interpret, use materials and follow processes.
  • Pupils learn how aesthetic judgements are formed and claimed, how art is studied and how to participate in the discourses of artists and critics.
  • They cultivate a range of transferable skills such as communication, curiosity and the ability to analyse and evaluate.
